OK, I've woken up in a good mood and have just finished working out, followed by my required glass of water with the juice of 1/2 a lime (detoxifying and good for the digestive system).

Last night I got a sweet email from someone I'll refer to as DM :) It helped me to feel a lot better so I'm going to share it here for posterity, and also cos it may help someone else who is dealing with nightmares. Man, you see why Diaryland is better than a shrink!

"According to ECKANKAR... nightmares are usually a gift from G-d. Why? Because when we have many issues and many debts (karma) to work out sometimes it's too hard to do so on the outer, the material world; the result on the outer might be too much for one to bear, and might lead to insanity or murder or suicide or something drastic. By working it out on the inner the stresses are removed and balance regained, though often the memory doesn't seem so. But the effect works. You would often get help to overcome in the dream state. Or sometimes greater knowledge of your causes. But say thanks for the nightmare and find the solution while there. If you solve or overcome on the inner you will on the outer."
